Another Year Gone By....

One year ago this weekend Clay and I flew up to Winston to visit New Hope. Clay had just graduated from RTS, and I was working at an outdoor store in Orlando. I remember being tired...the seminary years were hard. We didnt' have a day off together, so we rarely had quality time with one another. We didn't know what to expect when we came to church that Sunday morning. We walked in, and Gerald Chrisco was the first person to talk to us. We felt at home right away. The Sunday School time was celebrating the graduating seniors....which is what we will be doing this Sunday at New Hope. A year ago, that room for me was filled with strange faces and unfamiliar stories...but I wanted to become part of it all. I loved the fellowship that the New Hopians shared. This Sunday, I will be thankful for God's plan to make us part of New Hope and the lives of all these students and families. Our visit to New Hope last June was the most wonderful time we had spent together in an entire year. Little did I know that visit was just a preview to what our life would be like here at New Hope. As the year comes to a close, a lot will change. I will hopefully be in school full-time starting this Fall. Clay and I won't have the same exact schedule anymore, and we will see each other less. I am thankful for this wonderful year and what is has meant for our marriage!
